OK Jayhawk fans, who are you going for? Missouri and Kansas State fans you either have to vote so your least favorite KU team won’t advance, or abstain.
It seems the obvious choice would be a KU basketball championship, but 1968 was one of the most memorable Jayhawk football seasons ever.
Bobby Douglass, John Riggins and crew nearly pulled out an Orange Bowl victory with a controversial, one-point loss to Penn State and finished 9-2-1 on the season.
Clyde Lovellette and the Jayhawks of the hardwood did get the job done, handily defeating St. John’s in the title game, to earn the school’s first NCAA national championship.
One thing for sure after this match-up, unlike the past two years, there will be a Jayhawk team in the Sweet 16.
