(5) 1978 KC Royals vs. (13) 1995 KC Chiefs
On the surface it seems like the ’78 KC Royals would have an easy time with the 13th-seeded ’95 KC Chiefs, but that team knocked off the fourth-seeded ’95-’96 Kansas basketball team in easy fashion, garnering two thirds of the votes.
It was surprising considering 1995 was the year of Lin Elliot and the Three Missed Field Goals, but it apparently was a memorable one as well, with KC still winning 13 regular season games.
Amos Otis and the KC Royals received 90 percent of the votes in the first round in a blowout against the 1920-21 Missouri basketball team.
It’s up to you to decide if a 92-win season and a third AL West title can overtake a 13-win season with some of the most infamous missed kicks in NFL playoff history.
