Week 4: Chiefs VS Patriots (Monday Night Football) (Chiefs won 41-14)

In all honesty, this game and the Seattle game could have swapped spots, but there was nothing like being at Arrowhead Stadium and watching this beat down of the New England Patriots take place in person.

For one, this game took place on Monday Night Football, and just so happened to occur the night before the Kansas City Royals were to take part in their first playoff game in 29 years. Also, Arrowhead Stadium was going for the loudest outdoor stadium record. So yeah… Kansas City was rocking heading into this game.

The coolest part of the entire game was when the fans did a “Let’s Go Royals!” chant near the end of the game. It was pretty freaking cool to see fans supporting both of their teams, and getting to witness our Chiefs beating up on pretty boy Brady.

I had a good feeling when making my walk from the parking lot to the stadium that the Chiefs would win this game, but I was expecting the Patriots to put on a good show.

For anyone who watched this game or even heard about it, the Chiefs controlled this game the entire time.

Kansas City took the lead early on and never gave up that lead. In fact, New England never even came close in this game. It was 17-0 at half time in favor of the Chiefs, and by the time the Patriots got on the board in the third quarter, it was 27-7 and the Chiefs were rolling, as were the fans.

Arrowhead Stadium broke the record for loudest stadium in the first half (142.2 decibels) and it was an absolutely crazy atmosphere. The coolest part of the entire game was when the fans did a “Let’s Go Royals!” chant near the end of the game. It was pretty freaking cool to see fans supporting both of their teams, and getting to witness our Chiefs beating up on pretty boy Brady.

With a final score of 41-14, Tom Brady turning the ball over three total times and getting pounded around constantly throughout this game, many analysts thought that Brady was past his prime. Trent Dilfer even said on the post show that the Patriots were “not good anymore”.

Well, the Patriots went on to win the Super Bowl and this game was used as the “low point” or “turning point” of their season. Chiefs fans loved every minute of it.
