Royals rumors are still circulating and one that surprisingly hasn’t been brought up much is the possibility of the Kansas City Royals going after White Sox pitcher Jeff Samardzija.

Wait, don’t Kansas City Royals fans hate Jeff Samardzija, or doesn’t he hate us or something? I don’t know, but if Samardzija’s beef with Lorenzo Cain or the Kansas City Royals is a real thing, then by all means let’s cook it.

Otherwise, let’s trade for him.

the Kansas City Royals are going to need dogs – guys who are about competing and about winning. Samardzija is exactly that.

The Kansas City Royals, Houston Astros, Detroit Tigers and others are interested in Samardzija as the July 31st MLB Trade Deadline approaches, according to The Boston Globe’s Nick Cafardo. Also include the Blue Jays, according to the Toronto Star.

Sure, Shark (his nickname) beaned Cain, continued chirping from the dugout and basically ignited a Royals-White Sox brawl early this season, but it wasn’t necessarily anything personal. He said he got caught up in the moment. Boys will be boys.

The fact is that Samardzija would improve the Royals team, and he’s likely available:

Plus he’s just a bad dude. 6-foot-5, 225-pound power right-hander, former All-American wide receiver at Notre Dame, and that flow/’stache combo is next-level. Let’s just say the nickname Shark isn’t handed out willy-nilly. (Can you tell I’m a Jeff Samardzija fan?)
