“Why are we giving up a home game?”

Now this is one that I share somewhat of an opinion with because it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. Why the Kansas City Chiefs, a team with an established home field advantage due to holding the World Record for loudest outdoor stadium, would voluntarily give up a home game to play overseas is beyond me.

The Chiefs did just that though, and will only have seven home games in 2015.

  • Not only that, but the game chosen to be played overseas is against the Detroit Lions, who made it to the postseason last year, and won’t be easy to defeat by any means. If the Chiefs had this game at Arrowhead, it’d be difficult for Matt Stafford to call plays and in return, might be more likely that Calvin Johnson drops a pass or runs a wrong route or something.

    In this case though, nope.

While the Chiefs are considered the home team for that game, it’s in London, not at Arrowhead Stadium. Chiefs fans might be in attendance, but nowhere near as many and nowhere near as loud as the ones right here in Kansas City are.

I’m hoping there was some sort of reasoning for willingly giving up a home game, especially for a team on the rise. Say… A Thanksgiving night game at Arrowhead in 2016? Please and thank you.
