Jason Frasor has been a nice option in the bullpen since being signed midway through 2014. Re signing him this past off season was a great move by Dayton Moore, and Frasor continued to be the guy who the Royals leaned on in times of an H-D-H member being unavailable and he typically performed admirably.

Kansas City acquired Frasor last season when they needed an extra arm in the bullpen, and Frasor was put to work right away. He re-signed with the Royals on a one-year deal and the organization hasn’t regretted the decision.

Frasor has looked good in 2015, only allowing five runs in 25 games (three of those being in his worst appearance so far this season). Frasor has also only allowed one home run all season long.

I’ve noticed recently that Frasor doesn’t tend to get put into as many close games as he once did. Now it seems that Morales is typically put in instead of Frasor, but the former Texas Ranger has still been pretty dang good.

  • His most recent outing saw him pitching one inning against the Astros where he allowed a lone hit and a walk in one inning pitched, striking out two batters in a game where the Royals were already down a significant amount of runs.

Frasor’s first chunk of the season saw him posing a 0.00 ERA until a month into the season when he allowed a run against the Indians.

Highlight of 2015 so far: Frasor has mostly had a lot of the same appearances. He’ll usually allow a hit and maybe a walk, but I’d say his most impressive inning was his first of 2015. Frasor pitched against the White Sox in Kansas City, and went one inning, striking out two White Sox without allowing a hit.

Lowlight of 2015 so far: Frasor’s worst inning this season came against the Red Sox in June. He pitched one inning and allowed three runs. That one inning bloated Frasor’s ERA from a 0.44 to a 1.69. Still a pretty good ERA, but dang his was almost as good as Wade’s!
