After the first two weeks of the NFL season last year, everyone was ready to give up on rookie Cairo Santos. He missed two field goal attempts in his first two games, but went on to make 13 attempts in a row.

His biggest moment of the season was making a 48 yarder to give the Chiefs the win in San Diego. Santos also made a 53 yard field goal against the St. Louis Rams in a game that eventually ended as a blow out.
Santos should have less jitters headed into 2015. A lot of his early season misses could be credited to nerves, which is understandable, but caused him to miss some fairly easy attempts.
Fans saw a glimpse of greatness from Santos when he went on to kick 13 straight attempts and began to be a sure thing whenever the Chiefs chose to go for three.
With the extra point getting moved back this season, extra points aren’t a sure thing, but I’m not worried about Santos in the least bit.
I saw this kid boot a 60+ yarder during warm-ups so he certainly has the leg. The questions out there will be if he can keep his nerves in check.
I expect good things from Cairo Santos in his second NFL season.
