KC Chiefs: Five Best Special Teams Players In Chiefs History
In years past, part of why the Kansas City Chiefs were so good and were able to make it into the postseason was due to their special teams.
Special teams is an interesting concept because they can be the strongest part of a team without anyone really even noticing. A lot of the guys on special teams are only remembered if they mess something up (i.e. the punter, kicker, long snapper, etc), but the Chiefs have been fortunate to have had players who make a serious impact on special teams over the years.
Before we get to the list, I’m going to point out now that you won’t see Knile Davis or De’Anthony Thomas on this list. I wasn’t expecting anyone to think that, but when asking around about who people suggested for this countdown, a lot felt Thomas deserved a spot.
Thomas certainly has the potential to be a great punt returner in the National Football League, but he’s only been in the league for a year. If after year two he still looks as good as he did in year one, who knows? Maybe I’ll reconsider and rewrite this list.
I did consider Davis, but he too is still fairly new to the NFL and he needs more experience under his belt.
Without further ado, let’s check out the five best special teamers in KC Chiefs history!
