2nd round, Pick #17 (#49th overall). OL. Missouri. Mitch Morse. 3. player. 124

Well Kansas City Chiefs fans, welcome your newest hometown hero.

The Tiger Trifecta will probably occur in the second quarter of some preseason game, and will involve a scenario where center Mitch Morse snaps the ball to quarterback Chase Daniel, who finds Jeremy Maclin in the end zone for a touchdown.

Kansas City desperately needed help on the offensive line, and Morse will definitely help. He has played center, guard and tackle on the college level, but will probably stick in the interior in the NFL.

With the addition of Morse, the Chiefs now have three former Tigers on the team. The two others are quarterback Chase Daniel and wide receiver Jeremy Maclin.

As a Missouri fan and student myself, my only request/dream for the Chiefs this preseason is to achieve the “Tiger Trifecta” (trademark pending). The Tiger Trifecta will probably occur in the second quarter of some preseason game, and will involve a scenario where center Mitch Morse snaps the ball to quarterback Chase Daniel, who finds Jeremy Maclin in the end zone for a touchdown.

Help me Andy Reid, you’re my only hope.

Here’s Mike Mayock’s opinion on the pick:

"“He was a tackle at Missouri. Why kick him inside? He has short arms, but he’s really smart. He is smart and tough, and he’ll find a home at center. I think Morse will be a 10-year starter. Andy Reid loves interior offensive linemen.”"
