East Carolina. The school no one is expecting on this list, but I sure had you fooled, huh?

  • Justin Hardy is just the type of wide receiver the KC Chiefs could use because A) He can catch throws B) He’s a vicious blocker and C) He likes to catch touchdown passes. All great intangibles of being a wide receiver in the NFL.

I discussed the possibility of drafting Tre McBride earlier, and I’d be okay with getting multiple receivers on Saturday, but Hardy is high on my list for a reason. He wouldn’t be a starter, at least not right away, but he’d be a quality receiver that fans could count on late in the game when Alex Smith has to throw the ball down (or not) the field. Lance Zierlein of NFL.com said that 70 percent of Hardy’s catches with the Pirates his senior year went for first downs. That’s pretty cool.

Hardy would be a nice fourth or fifth round pick.

"Hardy consistently attacks his on-field responsibility with urgency and aggressiveness and he’s a very reliable target. With more teams running the ball out of three-WR sets, some coordinators will see value in the way Hardy gets after run-blocking assignments. Hardy must prove that he has the quickness to get separation out of his breaks. – NFL.com"
