No, I haven’t forgotten about the Kansas City Chiefs’ defense. With one of the best defenses in the league in 2014, why not add more weapons? More specifically, why not add some bodies in the secondary?
Quandre Diggs out of Texas University was the best available cornerback and according to this mock draft, he’s coming to Kansas City in 2015. The Chiefs had an impressive secondary in 2014 led by Sean Smith and Ron Parker, but they certainly need help.
"Diggs has started 80 percent of his games during his four years at Texas. He’s battle-tested against some of the most explosive wide receivers in the country and has developed into a mentally tough player. Diggs will have to be a slot cornerback and will need to keep his weight down in order to match up with the speed he will see from the slot. – NFL.com"
Smith might be serving a two-game suspension to start the year and Parker will likely play in the safety spot in Eric Berry‘s absence. There’s still Phillip Gaines, Marcus Cooper, and Jamell Fleming, all of whom did all right in 2015, but Diggs could help out and could be a play maker on special teams as well (Source of Smith link: Joel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride).
