Jaelen Strong has been linked with the KC Chiefs several times during mock draft season, most recently in Mel Kiper’s fourth mock draft. Strong would be a big target and would become one of Alex Smith‘s favorite weapons on the offensive side of the ball.

Strong very well could fall to the second round, but I don’t see him falling all the way to the Chiefs in round two.

During his two seasons with the Arizona State Sun Devils, Strong had 157 receptions for 2,287 yards and 17 touchdowns. He’d be the perfect type of receiver to line up opposite Maclin. Opposing teams wouldn’t want to double team Maclin with a big receiver down the field in Strong.

"Individual elements of Strong’s game aren’t awe-inspiring, but scouts really love the entirety of his game and where it is headed. His strength, size and ability to catch contested throws will be coveted by some, but his issues with separation quickness can only be solved if he becomes much better in his route-running. Strong looks the part of a physical, possession receiver with a relatively high floor. – NFL.com"

Strong very well could fall to the second round, but I don’t see him falling all the way to the Chiefs in round two. That being said, the Chiefs need to take him at 18th overall if they want Jaelen Strong in Kansas City. I don’t think they’d regret it.
