Another young gun on the team, Da’Rick Rogers was added to the Kansas City Chiefs during the off season and very well could compete for that starting job.

Rogers played college at Tennessee, but was suspended due to a violation of team rules. He then enrolled at Tennessee Tech and eventually wound up playing for the Indianapolis Colts.

During his time as a Colt, Rogers caught two touchdown passes from Andrew Luck in five games in 2013. He also had 192 yards on the year. Rogers was released from Indianapolis when he was arrested due to driving under the influence.

The character issues are troublesome, but the team has already signed Rogers and hopefully he can get his act together. It wouldn’t be good if this team had Rogers and then drafted troublemaker Dorial Green-Beckham in the draft. Two drama queens are not what a team on the rise needs at the moment.

If Rogers can play how he did in 2013 without problems off the field, he could have a shot at starting this season. I say let’s keep an eye on him in the preseason though.

Terez Paylor did a nice write up on Da’Rick Rogers in January, which is where I got most of this information from.
