The Kansas City Chiefs are mired in their off-season, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t areas to discuss concerning the roster. With the 2015 NFL Draft just weeks away, everyone has been trying to figure out what position the Chiefs will address in the first round.
The answers vary really. The need for another body in the secondary is crucial, as is another big guy to help stop the run. The Chiefs could also use a decent guy along the offensive line to help protect Alex Smith. The most popular choice for fans though seems to be at the wide receiver position.
Sure, the Chiefs just landed Jeremy Maclin during free agency, which was the biggest move for this team since getting Smith two years ago (although I’m sure many would disagree that that move was “big”). Maclin, despite his talents, won’t be able to do everything on offense though.
He’ll likely be double teamed by opposing defenses and while that will allow tight end Travis Kelce to get open and make plays, it’s still important for this team to address that second wide receiver spot. Maybe though, just maybe, the Chiefs already have that number two guy on their roster and we just have to wait and see what kind of potential that player has alongside Maclin.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at the other wide receivers on the Chiefs roster and who could potentially be that second guy on the offense.
