1) Home Runs

Without a doubt, home runs have been the best part of the Kansas City Royals’ season up to this point. Last season, the team had the fewest amount of home runs in the entire league, but still made it to the World Series due to excellent defense and pitching.

That caught up to them in the World Series, and they fell to the San Francisco Giants in Game 7 (also known as the night where I cried myself to sleep). The Royals couldn’t hit for crap during their final game of the season, and their pitching and defense couldn’t save them.

So far, the Royals have already homered 10 times in just seven games. Salvador Perez has hit three, Moustakas and Kendrys Morales have hit two, and Lorenzo Cain, Eric Hosmer, and Alex Rios have homered one.

Home runs have been the difference in these first seven games for the Royals and it’s been a blast to watch. Hopefully this continues throughout the season because hitting bombs out of the park only makes it easier for the rest of the team.

Also, let’s be honest. How much fun is it to jump around like an idiot when one of the Royals knocks the ball out of the park? Yeah, I thought so too.

It is funny though, how when you are the team hitting home runs, no one mentions that silly thing about home runs being rally killers…
