The fifth round saw the KC Chiefs going back to the defense, where they once again will add to the secondary. Lorenzo Doss of Tulane might not be the biggest name in the draft, but as you can tell from his stats above, he could be a steal in the fifth round.

  • Doss had 14 total interceptions during his time with Tulane and had seven of those during his sophomore year with the team in 2013. That was the same year that saw Doss returning two of those interceptions for touchdowns and had 185 total yards from interception returns.

I liked the selection of Doss simply for his interception stats. The Chiefs defense, as dominant as they were in 2014, struggled to force turnovers. I’m not saying that Doss could repeat those numbers, especially in his rookie year, but he has the ability to and could be a huge help in that department.

"He wasn’t challenged very often in 2014 and his long speed will be revealed in his workouts, but his ball skills and ability to flip the field should gain him additional attention from general managers. – NFL.com"

Keep in mind this is a fifth round pick, but I still think it could pan out in the long run for the Chiefs if they want to force some turnovers in 2015.
