Kansas City Royals: Remembering the Greatest Baseball Game Ever

At this point, two guys next to me said some choice words for 15 minutes, and then headed home as if sitting in their living room was going to be better than being at a baseball game.
Of course, we all know they would come to regret it, as the Kansas City Royals did in fact come back.
The amazing, three-run eighth was full of “little things.”
The kind of plays that are rarely remembered, but helped win the game. One of those was Alcides Escobar’s lead-off single. If he pops up to right, say Nori Aoki still grounds out, and the possibility of a comeback is all but dead.
Instead, the lead-off man reached base, stole second, Aoki moved him to third, and a few hits, a Terrance Gore stolen base, and a passed ball later, the Royals were within one heading in to the ninth.
We were saying there’s a chance!
