It hadn’t been a full inning, and thanks to a Brandon Moss home run that just landed, the Kansas City Royals already trailed in their first playoff game in nearly three decades.
I sat in my seat, about 100 rows up behind first base with a group of friends, deflated, despite the fact not one Royal had stepped to the plate.
With one giant swing of a bat, a surreal feeling that it was September 30 and we were at a Royals game in Kauffman Stadium, had been replaced with the same ‘ol “here we go again” attitude of the past 29 years.
