Biggest Jayhawk Threat: Wichita State Shockers

Time to focus on the thing Tiger fans love most: hating the Jayhawks. If you are one of those people that would rather watch Kansas choke in the Round of 32 than watch Missouri make the Sweet 16, the Wichita State Shockers are your team for sure.

Let’s be real, New Mexico State is not going to beat the Jayhawks. Especially since Sim Bhullar left for the NBA last season. However, Wichita State is the real deal, and they pose a real challenge to the Jayhawks, with ‘The Battle for Kansas Supremacy’ on the line.

Kansas has avoided playing Wichita State for years, mainly because they are actually pretty good. With players like junior guards Ron Baker (15 ppg) and Fred VanVleet (12.7 ppg), the Shockers have the ability to spread the floor and have that superb guard play that most national champions exhibit.

However, before they can battle the Jayhawks, the Shockers will have to face off against Indiana. Although the Hoosiers have had an off-year, they still made the tournament, and they still have talent. However, if Wichita State can pull it off, we are poised for possibly the best game of the tournament, and one that many Mizzou fans will have their eye on.
