You want to pick a team that actually has a chance? Kentucky will be a popular championship pick this year, as ESPN has them having a 36% chance of winning the whole thing. But Mizzou fans will have a reason to be on their side, as both teams are in the same conference. If the SEC can’t have football dominance, it might as well have basketball dominance.

  • Winners of every single game they have played, including the Southeastern Conference Tournament, Kentucky is a perfect 34-0 going into the NCAA tournament. Runner-up to UConn last season, Kentucky has reloaded their squad with enough All-Americans to arguably compete with some NBA teams.

Kentucky really has no star, mainly because they are all stars. But two players, Willie Cauley-Stein and Karl-Anthony Towns, are looked at as potential lottery picks in this year’s NBA Draft. Both were members of the 1st-team All-SEC squad. Cauley-Stein brought home the SEC Defensive Player of the Year award, while Towns was named the conference’s top freshmen.

There’s no doubt Kentucky is the team to beat this year. They’ve beaten every team they’ve crossed, and they’ve demolished most of them. They have big wins against schools like Kansas and North Carolina, and although young, are poised to make a deep run.
