Missouri Tigers: 8 Teams to Root For In March
Mar 15, 2015; Hartford, CT, USA; The Southern Methodist Mustangs celebrate after defeating the Connecticut Huskies during the final round of the American Conference Tournament at XL Center. David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports at XL Center.
We knew this day was coming. But not all of us knew what to do when the day actually came.
Since the first game of the season, a loss to the University of Missouri-Kansas City Kangaroos (Yes, that actually happened), the Missouri Tigers were destined to be in this position: outside the tournament. But not many knew it would be just this bad.
- The Tigers won just nine games, including just three conference games.
- The Tigers did not win a single road game.
- The Tigers best non-conference win was against Valparaiso.
- The Tigers are the only power conference school to win more games in football than in basketball, despite the Citrus Bowl champs playing 18 less games.
Just because Mizzou won’t be dancing this month doesn’t mean you should just skip the tournament this year. March Madness provides some of the best games across all sports this year. March Madness is an excuse to watch sports during class, and sometimes its a way to get some extra spending money by being better at it than your friends and co-workers.
Since Mizzou wont be participating, what team do you plan to root for? Are you a fan on Cinderellas? Mid-Majors? SEC teams? Blue Bloods? Best Mascot? Best Uniform? Any team outside of Lawrence, Kansas?
No matter your preference, I’ll give you plenty of options to help you in your bracket endeavors, whether your motives are basketball-related or not.
