The KC Chiefs will be exploring all options to improve their wide receivers, and with the news that Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson will be hitting free agency soon, they may be wise to pursue the veteran receiver.

Johnson is 34 years old and a 12 year NFL veteran. He has spent all 12 of his professional seasons with the Houston Texans from 2003 through 2014. It is doubtful that he joins the Kansas City Chiefs, but you can’t completely rule it out. Before we look into how he fits in with the Chiefs, lets take a look at his career up to this point.

2003

Johnson was drafted with the third overall selection in the first round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans. The Cincinnati Bengals took quarterback Carson Palmer with the first pick, and the Detroit Lions took wide receiver Charles Rogers with the second pick before Houston took Johnson.

Kansas City took a Johnson of their own in the first round of the draft, running back Larry Johnson. I think we all know who ended up with the better Johnson in the draft.

Andre Johnson enjoyed a fantastic rookie year, finishing with 66 receptions, 976 yards, and four touchdowns.

Let’s take a look at a rundown of his accomplished career.
