Kansas City Chiefs: Free Agent Wide Receivers To Look At

Brian Hartline spent his entire career with the Miami Dolphins, but was released by the team on Friday, according to ESPN.com.
Hartline might not be the biggest name out there on the market, but he’d be an affordable option for a team that desperately needs help opposite Dwayne Bowe (assuming he’s still around next season).
Hartline’s 2014 stats weren’t off the wall, but before that he posted back to back 1,000 yard seasons (1,083 in 2012 and 1,016 in 2013) and the Chiefs would LOVE to see that kind of play from anyone on the team, as Dwayne Bowe hasn’t had a 1,000 yard season since 2011.
The drop off between 2013 and this past season does worry me though. Does Brian Hartline have enough left in the tank to be a great wide receiver in Kansas City?
My co-editor Michael Tavis did a write up on if the Chiefs should target Brian Hartline or not. Michael didn’t seem too impressed with Hartline’s overall stats during his career.
"The KC Chiefs need a play maker at wide receiver, someone who can take over a game, someone who can score touchdowns, and Brian Hartline is just not that kind of player. He is a dependable player who will catch some important passes, but can not be counted on to score touchdowns."
While I agree with Michael’s statement, I do think Brian Hartline would be one of the cheaper options out there in free agency.
