Defense
Andrew Wiggins’ 6-foot-8 frame isn’t uncommon. His 7-foot wingspan is. Defense is largely a team effort, and while the Timberwolves don’t have the roster for Wiggins to truly shine as an elite defender, he has all the tools to be a stopper in the NBA.
Disruptive length, active hands and good feet and he’s nowhere near physical maturity. Here he is with the volleyball-spike block courtesy of fellow rookie Jabari Parker:

Grade: 7/10
Efficiency
- Player Efficiency Rating (PER): 12.8
- True Shooting Percentage (TS%): .506
- Usage Percentage (USG): 21.5
For comparison, a 19-year-old LeBron James had a 18.3 PER and a .488 TS%. Not surprisingly, Wiggins isn’t an efficient player yet. He has 30-point, 9-rebound games, but still drops the 8-point, 2-10 shooting performances that most rookies do. He has work to do to reach the 20+ PER of the league’s most efficient players.
