2015 NFL Mock Draft: KC Chiefs Get a Steal in First Round

Round 5, Pick 18
Hooray! Another offensive lineman!
Kansas City’s o-line was absolutely atrocious in 2014 and definitely needs some upgrading. In the second round, I grabbed a center. Now in the fifth round, it was time to add a guard. Last year’s guys up front just didn’t get the job done.
I’m not saying that Arie Kouandjio is going to be the answer to all of the Chiefs’ problems, but he’s probably better than Mike McGlynn. In fact, I’m probably better than Mike McGlynn and I’m barely over 5 feet tall. That’s beside the point though.
Kouandjio is projected as the third best guard in the draft and is projected to go in the second round according to CBS Sports (my draft source for this article).
"Arie certainly looks the part of an early round NFL draft pick, boasting broad shoulders, long arms and tree trunks for legs. He flashes impressive initial quickness and the power to simply shove defenders off the line of scrimmage. Kouandjio can simply maul opponents in the running game. – Rob Rang, CBS Sports"
Mauling opponents in the running game bodes well for the Kansas City Chiefs, as they have a strong relationship with running the football.
