Round 4, Pick 19

Don’t worry, I’m well aware that the Chiefs have a defense too! I drafted Doran Grant out of Ohio State in the fourth round.

Grant is a cornerback, which is an iffy area for Kansas City. Ron Parker performed better in the safety position when Eric Berry couldn’t play, Marcus Cooper didn’t have nearly as good of a season as his rookie year, Chris Owens struggled, and Phillip Gaines will be headed into only his second season and will have things to learn.

So yeah. It might be nice to add another cornerback to the roster through the draft.

"He is patient and trusts what he sees with adequate size, speed and ballskills for the position, but scouts want to see improved discipline and sustained confidence from play-to-play. – Dane Brugler of CBS Sports on Grant’s strengths before the 2014 season began"

Grant might not be an immediate starter, but he adds insurance to a secondary that despite not having big names in 2014, came through and played well at the end of the day.
