Round 3, Pick 19
The KC Chiefs would be pretty dang lucky if Josue Matias is still on the board by the time their third round pick rolls around. Matias is projected as the second best offensive guard and could go as early as the second round.
Adding Brandon Scherff and Josue Matias would be huge for an offensive line that struggled in 2014. I would be very content with these picks if this is how the beginning of the draft played out.
Round 4, Pick 18
Ben Heeney is the fifth best inside linebacker available in the 2015 NFL Draft and attended school an hour away from Arrowhead Stadium at the University of Kansas. The Chiefs desperately need to add a guy into the middle of the defense to stop the run, an area in which they struggled tremendously in last season.
Heeney is 6’0 and 230 pounds and would be a great addition to the Kansas City defense. He’s projected to go sometime in the fourth round so this would be a solid pick for the Chiefs.
"He has average straight-line speed and appears tight in space, but plays with a try-hard motor and leaves everything he has on the field. Heeney is a physical wrap tackler and aggressive in pursuit, taking decisive angles and breaking down well on the move – locks onto his target and won’t make many mistakes. – Brugler, CBS Sports"
So far, the Chiefs have drafted three offensive players and just one on defense. Who will be taken in the last three rounds?
