45. player. 27. 2008 Stats: 2.8 PPG, 3.0 RPG, 1.0 BPG, 52% FG%. C. New York Knicks. Cole Aldrich

Seasons At Kansas: 3 (2007-2010)

Drafted: 11th overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft by the New Orleans Hornets.

For most of the 2007-2008 season, Aldrich was purely a reserve being behind 3 2008 NBA Draft picks in Arthur, Jackson, and Sasha Kaun, but as the season went on, Aldrich got more and more chances from Bill Self and really shined most of the time.

In the Championship game, Aldrich put up a blank on the stat sheet other than the four minutes he played, giving Arthur and Jackson some rest time.

Aldrich’s contributions to the ‘hawks were in the following years where he and Sherron Collins teamed up to be one of the best duos in college basketball for the next two years.

  • In his final season in 2009-2010, he and Aldrich had top-recruit Xavier Henry, the Morris twins, and Thomas Robinson on the KU roster, which made them the top #1 seed heading into the NCAA Tournament. They famously lost to the UNI Panthers in the second round in one of the biggest upsets in NCAA history.

After that season, Aldrich decided to forgo his senior season and enter the 2010 NBA Draft where he got picked in the lottery.

Since then, he has played for 4 NBA teams including the Thunder, Rockets, Kings, and most recently the Knicks where he has been very successful lately.

Aldrich is enjoying his best NBA season thus far with the Knicks, and maybe has developed in to a valuable asset for New York.
