Seasons At Kansas: 4 (2004-2008)

Drafted: Undrafted in 2008 NBA Draft. Joined Houston Rockets NBA Summer League team in summer of 2008.

Russell Robinson was a real program player for the Jayhawks. He stayed for a full four years, and really did anything that was asked of him.

In 2008, he battled with Mario Chalmers and Sherron Collins for playing time, but was a great defender and was pretty good at getting the offense going and getting what Bill Self wanted done.

In the Championship game, he only shot ONE time, that’s right, one. He made his only shot in the 20 minutes he got in the game, which is why Sherron got so much more playing time over him in this game in my opinion.

After the season was over and the NBA Draft neared, most people expected that Robinson would go undrafted, and indeed he did. He made a NBA Summer League roster for the Rockets that summer though and played okay, but not good enough to make the roster.

Robinson since has bounced around the D-League and around other leagues and has yet to really stick anywhere.

Most recently, on December 31st, he signed a 10-day contract with Stelmet Zielona Góra of the Polish professional basketball league after being waived by the Austin Spurs of the NBA Developmental League earlier on in December.
