Seasons At Kansas: 2 (2006-2008)

Drafted: 27th pick in the 2008 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Hornets.

Darrell Arthur was one of a plethora of big men on the 2007-2008 Kansas team, but he may have been the most talented out of all of them.

Arthur only played two seasons at Kansas, making the 2008 Championship game the end of his sophomore season. In the game against Memphis, he had a team-high 20 points and a team-high 10 rebounds, while really “putting the team on his back” for most of the game.

Heading into the summer of 2008, Arthur was somewhat penalized by NBA scouts for his smallish size and lack of athleticism that most power forwards need and have in the NBA. That’s why he slipped to the end of the first round in the 2008 NBA Draft.

So far in his NBA career, he has only played with two teams: the Memphis Grizzlies (4 seasons), and the Denver Nuggets, who he is currently playing for.

Arthur has for the most part been a backup big man for the Grizzlies and Nuggets, but he has played plenty for both teams. This season, he’s getting about 18 MPG, and is putting up around eight points and four rebounds per game.
