Seasons At Kansas: 4 2004-2008
Drafted: 56th overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Seattle Supersonics (now the OKC Thunder).
Sasha (full name is Alexander) Kaun was for the most part a reserve big man for the Jayhawks during his four years in Lawrence, but he was beloved by all Kansas fans.
He was/is a legit 7-footer that was recruited heavily by Kansas, as well as Michigan State and the Duke Blue Devils.
His senior season, he and Cole Aldrich were backup big men for starters Darrell Arthur and Darnell Jackson. Sasha usually got the nod before Aldrich because most likely of his seniority.
Going into the summer, Kaun was barely on the NBA radar, but ended up getting drafted 4th from last in the 2008 NBA Draft by the then Seattle Supersonics (now the OKC Thunder).
Since then, Kaun now is playing in the EuroLeague for CSKA Moscow, where he is the starting center, and makes some pretty good money (almost $3.5 million in US money).
The picture above was from an exhibition with the San Antonio Spurs, where he had to guard Tim Duncan for the majority of the game.
