Kansas City Chiefs: 2014 Season in Review
Week 10: 17-13 Win at Buffalo Bills
Over the years, the Buffalo Bills had dealt a fit to the Chiefs, and I was convinced that this would be no different. Fortunately, the Chiefs were able to come back from a 10 point deficit and win the game. It was pretty awesome to see Alex Smith run in for the touchdown late in the game and let out that yell. Ron Parker also had a hell of a game in Buffalo and showed some real skill in the secondary.
The Chiefs were able to hold the Bills on multiple fourth down attempts including at the end of the game when Kyle Orton continued to throw it at the end zone. Also, the Bills really should have been the first team to score a rushing touchdown on Kansas City’s defense, but Bryce Brown fumbled the ball in the end zone thanks to Ron Parker punching it out of his arms. See what I was saying about Parker? He was electric in this game.
Next year will mark the eighth consecutive year that the Chiefs and Bills have squared off. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been viewing them as a big time rival since 2008 or so. When you play a team every year, it starts to feel that way.
Week 11: 24-20 Win VS Seattle Seahawks
What a game! This match up pitted two of the league’s best defenses against each other and the Kansas City Chiefs prevailed in a HUGE game. This marked five games in a row that the Kansas City Chiefs were able to win and at this point in the season, fans were all about this team going to the playoffs and making it past the first round.
Fans got to witness back to back nail biters where both sides of the ball did its part when push came to shove.
The most impressive part about this game was the Chiefs defense. Like the week before, the Chiefs’ D held strong on multiple fourth down attempts by the Seahawks.
This was probably the most intense game Chiefs fans had watched all season and when it was all said and done with, Kansas City was fired up about this team. The team was on a five game winning streak and were one of the hottest teams in the league.
Fans got to witness back to back nail biters where both sides of the ball did its part when push came to shove.
Too bad that fire burnt out less than a week later.
