Week 4: 41-14 Win VS New England Patriots (Monday Night Football)

Ahhhh… My favorite Chiefs game that I’ve ever attended. This game was just awesome.

The Chiefs were sitting at 1-2 and were hoping to get themselves back on track against the New England Patriots, who were 2-1. Arrowhead Stadium was hosting their first Monday Night Football game since 2011 against the Chargers on Halloween (also an unforgettable game) and were planning to break Seattle’s noise record, which they did in the first half of the game.

If the Patriots win the Super Bowl, this game in Kansas City will be shown as the “turning point” in the New England Super Bowl reel.

I’ll tell you this: It was so loud at Arrowhead that night that I couldn’t even hear my friend standing right next to me. It was constantly crazy and loud and that definitely got in Tom Brady‘s head because he had his worst game of the 2014 season. Brady threw two interceptions and lost a fumble and the Chiefs ran away with this one early on (it was 17-0 at half time and 27-0 by the time the Patriots finally got on the board in the third quarter).

Since then, the Patriots went on to clinch the number one seed in the AFC playoffs, but the Chiefs manhandled them early on. Just remember that folks. This is a Patriots team that has looked REALLY good down the stretch and the Chiefs put the hammer down on them in this game. The Patriots were so bad in this game that analysts were saying they weren’t the same team that they used to be and that “Tom Brady wasn’t good anymore”. No one gave the Chiefs credit for beating a team that has since looked strong.

If the Patriots win the Super Bowl, this game in Kansas City will be shown as the “turning point” in the New England Super Bowl reel, and I’ll be beaming the entire time. I’ll remember this game for a long time.
