I won’t place all of the blame on Cairo Santos on the two missed kicks, but considering how he started the season, you probably wouldn’t blame me if I did.

The main thing to point out here is that if Santos was going to miss a couple of kicks, be glad it was in a game where the Chiefs had put up enough points to win. Had the Raiders been able to make it a close game, people would have been wanting to burn Santos at the stake (not literally of course).

The first missed kick looked like it might have been a result of a bad snap and/or hold. The second missed kick came towards the very end of the game when the Chiefs were up 31-6 so honestly… I’m not saying it’s okay that Santos missed two kicks in a game, but again, if he was going to have a bad game, be glad it was this one.

It’s worth noting that both kicks were from 40+ yards away so it’s not like they were chip shots like some of the kicks he missed earlier in the season.

Hey, at least Cairo had that long streak of consecutive field goals for awhile. You still have to wonder if Cairo Santos will be the answer at the kicker position for this team next year.
