Sit ‘Em
Robinson’s struggles of late have me concerned (mainly because he is on my team in two of my three leagues). He has played two opponents in the Colts and the Giants who are not very good against the run in 2014, but he has only put up 9 total fantasy points over these last two weeks.
These performances are directly following four great performances that ultimately won him the starting job over Toby Gerhart who was acquired in free agency.
In both of these last two games, Robinson has gotten the touches and the opportunities to earn some fantasy numbers, but he has just failed to do so. I would say this has a lot to do with the team that he is on and their struggles more than just him struggling to create for himself, but either way it is hurting fantasy owners (especially me!).
In Week 14, Robinson and the Jags play the Houston Texans in a divisional game. The Texans run defense is pretty good. Not the best, but they are good, and with guys like Brian Cushing and possible MVP J.J. Watt ready to go, I don’t like Robinson’s chances to get out of his slump in this paramount week in fantasy.
Owners should bench him until he can get his act back together and go with other guys like Trent Richardson, Gio Bernard, and Isaiah Crowell this week to see if Robinson can get back in his groove.
Consider him a solid flex play this week though, as he still may have his bounce back week this week. I just don’t see Mr. Watt letting that happen.
