Start ‘Em

Matt Stafford has had somewhat of an up and down year. Some games he will be in the high 20s and others he can’t get double digits, and that unfortunately has happened two of the last three weeks.

Honestly, he should be better than he is in terms of fantasy football production. The guy has loads of talent, along with weapons galore including Megatron, Golden Tate, Eric Ebron, Reggie Bush, Joique Bell, and others. He really should be a top-5 or so fantasy QB, but just has never consistently proven that he is elite.

His owners this year probably have a “love/hate” relationship with Stafford because he really is a fantasy roller coaster.

I think he is a good start this week mainly because of his matchup. The Lions take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14, and he should be able to exploit their defense and have a great game. On paper, Stafford should have a 20-point or more game (in 6-point passing TD leagues).

I know this is an important week for owners who are either starting their playoffs or are trying to get into the playoffs, so I don’t want to make you think you should start Stafford over someone who is better and/or more consistent, but I think those who play him will not be disappointed this week.

Consider him a good play at QB for Week 14.
