55. Week 7 Projection: Standard (6-point TDs): 17/PPR: 17. QB. Pittsburgh Steelers. Ben Roethlisberger. 1. player

Ben Roethlisberger had the fantasy game of his life in Week 8, putting up a whopping 56 fantasy points. Yeah, you read that right. He 6 touchdowns and over 500 passing yards in an absolutely ridiculous performance against the Indianapolis Colts.

I see Roethlisberger as a good fantasy QB based on his matchup, not as an every-week starter. This is a week where I wouldn’t start him as the intense rivalry between the Steelers and Ravens should be a low-scoring, grinding affair.

Many fantasy owners are now understandably wanting to start Big Ben this week, but I think he is going to make a complete 180 and struggle this week against a stingy Ravens pass defense (ranked second against QBs in terms of fantasy points allowed).

I see Roethlisberger as a good fantasy QB based on his matchup, not as an every-week starter. This is a week where I wouldn’t start him as the intense rivalry between the Steelers and Ravens should be a low-scoring, grinding affair. I see the Steelers attempting to control the time-of-possession battle, and giving the ball to their talented running backs 30-40 times in Week 9.

If you don’t have a better option, don’t reach and start a scrub over Roethlisberger, but if you can find another respectable quarterback with a better matchup, start him this week.

Consider Ben a low-end starting QB this week, but a good start in 2-QB  leagues.
