Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em: Week 9

Julian Edelman came into the year looking like a great fantasy option because he was arguably Tom Brady‘s second best receiving option after tight end Rob Gronkowski. He hasn’t played like it all year.
The Broncos defense is much improved, and I don’t see Edelman putting up much production against them.
Brady and the Pats offense struggled through the first few weeks of the season, and Edelman’s numbers followed suit. Since then, their offense has gotten back on track, and Brady looks like the Brady of old where he put up 50 touchdowns in a season.
Even though the offense is rolling now, Edelman has yet to make a big impact on the offense. Brady has looked to Gronk, and new wide-out from Carolina Brandon LaFell as his favorite options in this year’s offense. Edelman seems to just be a decoy and a short-yardage option for Brady.
The Patriots go up against the Broncos in Week 9 in what should be a great football matchup. The Broncos defense is much improved, and I don’t see Edelman putting up much production against them. His only hope in my eyes is that the game becomes a shootout and Brady has to use all of his options and Edelman catches a touchdown, which would only be his second in 2014.
I wouldn’t start Edelman unless you have no other options with all the byes this week.
Consider him a good flex option at best for Week 9.
