Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em: Week 8

Sit ‘Em #1
Cam Newton is one of the best young quarterbacks in the league. This is true in the NFL and in fantasy football, but this week, he has an issue. He plays, guess who, the Seattle Seahawks.
The Seahawks have been surprisingly lax against the pass for a majority of the year, but this is due largely in part to the level of competition they have played. They have already faced Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Phillip Rivers, and the (unfortunately) hot Tony Romo.
I would avoid Newton in Week 8 and would look to guys like Ryan Tannehill and Carson Palmer as replacements this week.
While Cam could be another good quarterback added to this list, I don’t see it happening because of his supporting cast. The Legion of Boom shouldn’t have much trouble shutting down the receiving corp of the Panthers, as it may be one of the worst in the NFL.
Besides Greg Olsen and stud rookie Kelvin Benjamin, they are very, very thin at the position.
I see Pete Carol and co. scheming against these two and shutting down Cam and the Panthers offense in Week 8.
