1) That’s What Speed Do

The KC Royals led the MLB with 153 stolen bases this season. The other three teams still playing finished 28th, 29th, and 30th– dead last in the league and combined for 157 stolen bases together.

The Royals already have 12 stolen bases in 4 postseason games. The other nine teams who have played a playoff game have a total of 11 stolen bases combined. That’s a major advantage to the Kansas City Royals. When Jarrod Dyson and Terrance Gore come into the game for someone, you know that’s got to be messing with the pitcher.

The Royals also had 141 infield base hits over the course of the season, the third highest total in the majors, putting pressure on the the infield defense at all times. Terrence Gore actually scored from second on an infield hit by Lorenzo Cain that never left the infield grass!
