RB. Philadelphia Eagles. Darren Sproles. 2. player. 54. Week 4 Prediction: Standard: 6/PPR: 9

Darren Sproles has surprised many fantasy owners so far this season as he has put up good numbers even while being the primary backup to star LeSean McCoy. Eagles head coach Chip Kelly has found was to get him the ball on the ground and through the air, turning him into a dangerous dual threat player.

Sproles has some upside, but I would avoid him this week if you can.

Sproles got plenty of touches in the first two weeks of the season, then in Week 3, he only saw 5. This was largely due to the fact that the game became a shootout which led to the Eagles all but abandoning the run and short passing game. McCoy also struggled in terms of fantasy.

In Week 4, Sproles and the Eagles head to San Francisco to take on the 49ers. For the most part, the 49ers rush defense has been very effective against opposing running backs. They rank 7th in the NFL terms of rush yards allowed.

Sproles still could make his money in the passing game, as he has for the most part thus far this season, but I see the 49ers anticipating him and McCoy and attempting to make the Eagles one dimensional.

Sproles has some upside, but I would avoid him this week if you can.

Consider him a decent flex option for Week 4.
