Okay, it is to the point now with Eddie Lacy that owners actually need to be encouraged to play him. He has been straight up awful so far this year, but I think a change may be on the horizon.
I don’t think owners can bench Lacy just yet. Give him one more chance before sitting him, or even trading him.
To the uneducated eye, Lacy seems to have had only one tough matchup so far with the Seattle Seahawks, despite struggling three straight weeks, but with a bit of digging, you can see that this is untrue.
Lacy and the Packers have played 3 of the top 5 rushing defenses so far this year in regards to yards allowed on the ground. The Seahawks, Jets, and Lions all rank in the elite of rushing defenses, allowing only 217, 165, and 191 rushing yards respectively through 3 weeks.
Now, it Week 4, the Packers play against the rival Chicago Bears, who rank 26th against the rush (in terms of rushing yards allowed), allowing 434 yards through three weeks. This could be the week that Lacy shows his worth as a fantasy RB.
I don’t think owners can bench Lacy just yet. Give him one more chance before sitting him, or even trading him.
Consider him a solid #2 RB for Week 4 against the Bears.
