Those are the main spots that need improvement, but my area on the Hot Seat for this week is the wide receivers. Alex Smith has tossed four touchdown passes so far and none of them have been to wide receivers (two to tight ends and the other two to Joe McKnight). Step it up receivers or you’ll be on my list next week.

Overall though, it was nice to see a victory from the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. The offense, minus the o-line, looked pretty solid and can hopefully continue to put up a lot of points for the rest of the season.

  • Jamaal Charles might return to action on Monday night against the Patriots, which can only help. Knile Davis did a great job filling in though and gave Chiefs fans a huge confidence boost should Charles ever go out for an extended period of time again.

Travis Kelce also had a big game. He recorded his first NFL touchdown and the announcers on TV said he’s one of the “rising stars of the NFL”. Hard to disagree with them on that.

Alex Smith also had a big game, throwing three touchdown passes (two to Joe McKnight and one to Kelce) and no picks. He did lose a fumble, but Smith is typically pretty good about protecting the football.

Also, JOE MCKNIGHT! Who’d have thought he’d have the amazing game he did on Sunday? The Chiefs needed Davis to step up in Charles’ absence and both he and McKnight certainly did.

The Kansas City Chiefs have a long week to soak up the win, as they won’t take the field again until Monday night against the Patriots. The game will take place at Arrowhead and Kansas City is going for the loudest outdoor stadium record so expect it to be loud in KC on Monday night!
