Kansas City Chiefs: Areas to Improve on for Week 4

Special Teams
I have a few different areas on special teams to touch on here. First of all, Dustin Colquitt did an incredible job on Sunday. He had two punts that went for over 60 yards. Simply incredible. Colquitt is definitely one of the best, if not THE best, punters in the league. It’s just not about the average with him, but helping his team establish field position.
Simply incredible. Colquitt is definitely one of the best, if not THE best, punters in the league.
Now onto the negatives: the Chiefs had two big returns on Sunday, but they were both wiped out by penalties. Not okay. Second, the return coverage looked dreadful, allowing Dolphins receiver Jarvis Landry to have several big returns.
Third, Cairo Santos (I told you he’d be on this list, but not by his lonesome). Santos has to do a better job of kicking the ball into the end zone. Plain and simple.
Special teams has yet to return anything for a touchdown, which is an area that they dominated in last year. Perhaps once De’Anthony Thomas gets out there that he will be the difference maker. One can only hope. Frankie Hammond Jr. has not impressed me with his punt returning abilities.
