With workhorse Jamaal Charles out with a high ankle sprain, Knile Davis becomes the main ballcarrier in Kansas City.
While Charles is not out for the season, high ankle sprains typically take 4 to 6 weeks to heal. Davis looks like he’s going to get the ball in Kansas City a lot over the next month—especially when you consider that Andy Reid likes to throw to his backs.
On Sunday against Denver, Davis took the ball 22 times and rushed for 79 yards with 2 TD’s, while adding 6 catches for 26 yards. Overall, Davis produced a solid 105 total yards with 2 TDs.
Last week wasn’t Davis’ only impressive showing subbing for an injured Charles. In last season’s playoff loss to the Colts, Davis rushed for 67 yards with 1 TD and caught 7 passes for 33 yards and another TD.
Of course, many Jamaal Charles owners have already stashed Davis on their roster as a handcuff. But, if you have the chance, grab him. You won’t be sorry.
