2) QB Kirk Cousins, Washington Redskins
Kirk Cousins just inherited the starting gig in Washington after Robert Griffin III suffered what appears to be a season-ending injury by dislocating his ankle.
Enter Kirk Cousins, who has a track record of playing well after RG III goes down such that he is a fan favorite in Washington. All Cousins did on Sunday was go 22 of 33 for 250 yards and 2 TDs with 0 INTs.
Right now, it looks like Cousins will get his chance to show what he can do while starting for most of a season. While the Skins have committed too many resources (3 1st round draft picks) to Griffin, Cousins can put himself in position for a big offseason payday by playing well.
Right now, he looks like he’s going to get that chance.
