1) RB Bernard Pierce, Baltimore Ravens
Bernard Pierce got first crack at replacing Ray Rice as the Raven’s primary ballcarrier. Pierce was a major dud week one against the Bengals, rushing for 17 yards on 6 attempts with 1 lost fumble.
However, in his 2nd start, Pierce looked like a guy who might hang onto the job. Pierce ended up Baltimore’s main ballcarrier in their 26-6 win over the Steelers, grinding out 96 yards on 22 carries (a healthy 4.4 ypc) and added 1 catch for 7 yards.
Pierce played a big part in a ball-control attack that wore down the Steelers. If Pierce is still available in your league, you should snap him up right away. Someone has to get carries in Baltimore, and the 6’0″ 230lb Pierce looked like he could be a workhorse this season for the Ravens.
Pierce would be a terrific addition in traditional leagues whose scoring system favors running backs, and would help any roster that has a hole in the backfield.
