Sit ‘Em #2

Zac Stacy is a big powerful runner who should be a good back for the St. Louis Rams for years to come, but right now head coach Jeff Fisher is having Benny Cunningham split carries with Stacy.

I wouldn’t say its an even split (maybe Stacy 50%, Cunningham 40%, others 10% of carries), but it is a split nonetheless, and it isn’t good for fantasy owners. Especially since he was drafted in the first three rounds of most leagues.

Last week against the Minnesota Vikings, he got only 12 total touches and finished with 51 yards and had a measly 4 fantasy points in standard leagues. Unfortunately, I don’t see this changing in week 2.

Stacy and the Rams travel to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers who have quite the defense that shut down the Carolina Panthers’ rush offense for the most part in week 1. I see the Rams try to get the running game going early, but the will struggle and revert to the passing game.

For the most part, I doubt that owners will want to sit Stacy, considering he may have been their first or second RB drafted, but this week he is going to struggle and owners should look to their benches or on the waiver wire for a replacement this week, and maybe until Stacy starts to get more carries again.

Consider him a decent flex option or a low-end #2 RB for week 2.
