Fantasy Football Rookies: 7 Rookies You Should Target in 2014
Florida State Seminoles wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin (1) Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports
At #3 on my list is Carolina Panthers receiver Kelvin Benjamin. Benjamin was the 5th receiver picked in the 1st round in 2014, going to the Panthers with the 28th overall pick.
Benjamin had a solid year with Florida State in their BCS Championship season. As Jameis Winston’s primary passing option, Benjamin reached the end zone 15 times, including the game winning touchdown in the final minute of the Championship game.
After the mass exodus of receivers, Cam Newton and the Panthers weren’t left with many receiving options. Benjamin was brought in to be their #1 receiver as soon as this year, meaning he will see the ball just as much this year as he did last year at FSU.
Benjamin has a lot of potential, and has great value as a flex option or backup receiver for your fantasy team. However, he is very young. He only played two seasons at Florida State, and it may take him a while to adjust to the NFL.
