The Lions have searched far and wide to find a viable receiving option opposite of Calvin Johsnon and it seems they finally found him. Golden Tate is coming off a career year in which he caught 64 passes for 898 yards and 5 touchdowns.

While those numbers aren’t great, they’re still pretty good considering the style of offense the Seahawks like to run. The Lions have a ton of weapons on offense so it’s understandable to think Tate won’t get the ball much in 2014.

With Megatron demanding double teams on every snap, Stafford will look Tate’s way quite a bit and the reliable receiver will make the plays for him. There is hardly any reason to think he can’t replicate the numbers he did last season, if not better.

You can take him as a solid number three receiver or possibly flex player but, it won’t be surprising to see him outplay that spot. If he’s available late, take him. I don’t thin you’ll be disappointed.
